CANDEY secure settlement for Nissan following 6 week €150 million high court trial

CANDEY represented Nissan, the leading global automobile manufacturer, in a 6 week €150 million High Court trial against Fiamm, the leading Italian battery manufacturer.

In the claim Nissan alleged that, out of some 1.5 million batteries supplied by Fiamm between August 2013 and March 2018 for installation in the Qashqai and Juke vehicles about 900,000 failed during their three year warranty period and had to be replaced.

Following a hard fought split trial the case settled after closing submissions and before the handing down of judgment.

Andrew Dunn was the lead partner assisted by Sonia Bamford and Will Stewart-Parker.
