Sam Claydon - Partner
Sam has a broad litigation and arbitration practice with a particular focus on financial services and banking disputes and large/complex commercial litigation with an international dimension. Over his career, Sam has acted for both individuals and corporates, including large global banks, foreign embassies, entrepreneurs and both small and large corporates in a variety of industries. In addition, Sam has also acted on substantial group litigation and has experience of working on claims funded by third parties.
Sam also advises on sanctions and bribery issues and undertakes reviews and Court challenges for individuals seeking to overturn their sanctions designation.
Sam’s clients praise his user-friendly and commercial approach, and his willingness to explore alternative dispute resolution in any situation.
Sam took a First from Queen's College, Cambridge in Russian & Spanish before receiving a distinction at Law School. He trained and qualified at Freshfields and spent the last 3 years at US firm Morgan Lewis.
In addition to being admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2011, Sam is also admitted as a Legal Practitioner in the British Virgin Islands where CANDEY also has an office.
