Donal Blaney - Consultant

An English solicitor since 1998, Donal was admitted to practice in the British Virgin Islands in 2004. Having worked for what is now part of Ogier, Donal then founded, sold and became a consultant to a small litigation practice before joining CANDEY as a consultant legal practitioner in 2025.

Donal is the founder of a niche litigation practice in England, and has acted as ‘consigliere’ to a number of wealthy business owners and directors, providing cost-effective strategic advice from the unique viewpoint of a litigation specialist. His particular specialisms as a litigator are in respect of complex financial disputes with an international dimension, trust and tax disputes, and asset tracing.

Donal holds an LLB from the University of Southampton, a PGDL from the College of Law, and is a part-time PhD student at the University of Buckingham. He is described in Legal 500 as ‘a fiercely tenacious and commercially-minded litigator’ with ‘a wealth of experience of complex and high-value litigation’. He was also described as ‘as determined and strategically insightful as they come’.
